Het beste financieel advies dat ik ooit gehoord heb is dat het verstandig is om meerdere inkomstenstromen te hebben. Mocht je (zeker als zelfstandige) ziek worden, of een grote klant valt weg kan dit flinke financiële problemen opleveren. Door niet afhankelijk te zijn van slechts 1 inkomstenbron kun je dit risico spreiden.

Goede adviezen en de wind

Maar zoals het vaak gaat met goede adviezen heb ik dit advies een hele tijd naast me neer gelegd. En hoewel ik altijd geïnteresseerd was in de mogelijkheden van meerdere inkomstenstromen heb ik nooit echt actie ondernomen om deze op te zetten. Ik was te druk bezig met het ontwikkelen van games met Pepergroen en QuizControl. Tot vorig jaar tenminste! Het afgelopen jaar ben ik bezig geweest om samen met mijn moeder de webshop FairBodyCare op te zetten. En hoewel het nog geen storm loopt en er nog weinig inkomsten zijn gaat het wel in een stijgende lijn.

Niche websites

Niche websites intrigeren me ook al een paar jaar en kunnen een zeer interessante bron zijn van inkomsten. Het is zelfs mogelijk om er een passieve bron van inkomsten van te maken, door ze op te zetten, er advertenties op te zetten en dan google de rest te laten doen. Maar ik wist eigenlijk niet zo goed hoe ik met een dergelijke site zou moeten beginnen. Afgelopen maand kwam ik echter een blog post tegen die mensen uitdaagde om mee te doen aan een wedstrijd over wie de beste niche site op kan zetten binnen een half jaar. Nou challenge accepted!

Goudvissen verzorgen

Bij het opzetten van een niche site is het heel belangrijk dat je een goed onderwerp uitzoekt. Nu had ik geen idee wat een goede en lucratieve niche zou zijn, dus heb ik maar een onderwerp genomen dat ik redelijk interessant vond en waar nog niet echt een goede informatie site voor was. Mijn niche site gaat over het verzorgen van goudvissen!

Een beetje raar onderwerp misschien en of ik er ook daadwerkelijk geld mee ga verdienen weet ik niet, maar ik vind het in ieder geval erg leuk om er mee te experimenteren. Ondertussen is de website live, maar moet er nog een boel content geschreven worden.

Als onderdeel van de wedstrijd moet je af en toe een blogpost met je vorderingen plaatsen, dus dat zal ik op mijn blog hier doen. In mijn volgende posts zal ik uit de doeken doen hoe ik de site heb opgezet en hoe ik geld denk te gaan verdienen aan de site.
